Slovan Bratislava Women

Andrea Snopková sets for the team and also works as an assistant coach. It began in the 2021/22 season, inside a club that had been a men's operation for decades.

Those decades came with a long list of names. The men were ČH Bratislava for 36 years, until 1990. They became VKP Bratislava in 1992 and kept that name for two decades. Between 2012 and 2020 the club appeared as Spartak Myjava, Spartak Komárno and Bystrina SPU Nitra. It then returned to Bratislava as VKP Bratislava. Under those earlier names the men collected 11 league titles and 7 Slovak Cups.

The women did not wait long to add to that. In 2023/24, their third season, they won the Slovak Extraliga. The Slovak Cup followed in 2024/25. No other Slovak club has both a men's and a women's team in the Extraliga, and Bratislava's matches against Slávia EUBA Bratislava, the local rival, are known as the Bratislava derby.

In June 2025, weeks after that cup win, the club dropped VKP and became VK Slovan Bratislava, under the ownership of JTRE sports & entertainment a.s. The squad Snopková plays in includes the Japanese player Ayumi Nakamura and the Serbian-named Marija Škorić, alongside Zuzana Písečná at opposite.

The first name in the long chain, TKNB Bratislava, dates from 1946. It belonged to a men's team.
