Slavia Bratislava Women

Volleyball at Slávia Bratislava grew up inside a university rather than a neighbourhood.

That link shows in the numbers more than in any single trophy. Twenty-one Slovak league titles have gone to Bratislava since 1993, with the run reaching as recently as 2023, and nine further championships were won before 1992 under the old Czechoslovak competition. It makes Slávia the default measuring stick whenever a Slovak title race is discussed.

The Slovak Cup has followed a similar pattern, twelve wins stretched from the 1990s through to 2016, without ever becoming the club's main occupation the way the league has. Eleven entries in the CEV Challenge Cup since the 2008/09 season have produced a best finish of the round of 16, in 2016/17.

Matches are played at the Športová hala Mladosť, a hall that holds 500 people. Blue and red remain the club's colours on court.

For all the domestic dominance, the European record has stayed modest. A round of 16 in the Challenge Cup, reached once in eleven attempts, is as far as Slávia has taken its league success beyond Slovakia's own borders.
