Red Lions FC

Mike Kumanga played 26 times for Malawi between 2000 and 2004, and later came back to Zomba to take charge of the club as head coach.

Red and white gave them the nickname Ma Reds. Malawi's Super League has run since 1986 and Red Lions have never won it.

The first came in 1984, the Chibuku Cup, and then the 555 Cup three years later. In between, in 1986, they lost the Governors Trophy final to Bata Bullets. Two years on they were back in a final and beaten again, Silver Strikers seeing them off in the BP Top 8 Cup by the same 2–0 scoreline that had gone their way in 2000.

Chikoti Chirwa, a midfielder, has had two spells here, from 2012 to 2018 and again since 2020.

Three cups in the cabinet, and two of them won before the Super League existed.
