Sparta's women footballers trace back to a magazine rather than a boardroom: in 1966 Mladý svět

organised the section that would become Spartanky, with the club itself taking it under its wing in 1970. What followed left little room for rivals. Under Czechoslovakia, Sparta collected twelve championships between 1976 and 1991, and once the Czech Republic had its own league they simply kept winning, taking the domestic title twenty-two times, most recently in 2026.

The cup has followed the same pattern rather than offering competition, with eleven wins since 2008, the last also coming in 2026. No other side in Czech women's football, nor in its Czechoslovak predecessor, has matched that record. Slavia Prague provide the closest thing to resistance, and matches between the two draw on a Prague rivalry that goes back to 1896.

Since 2021 the women's team has worn the same badge as Sparta's men, a detail that says something about how the club now treats the section that spent its first years being run out of a magazine office.
