Servette Chênois Women

José Barcala arrived from Spain in the summer of 2023 to find a club that had already broken through once, a league title from 2021 sitting behind them, and left two years later with a shelf that had barely stood empty in between. Under him Servette Chênois beat FC St. Gallen 1-0 to lift the Swiss Cup in 2023, then went one better the following season: a 3-1 win over FC Zürich in the play-off settled the championship, and a 1-0 defence of the cup against BSC Young Boys completed the double. Barcala moved on to Bayern Munich in May 2025. His successor, the Argentine Cristian Toro, kept the habit going, beating Young Boys 1-0 again in the 2026 Swiss Cup final.

The club traces back to 1974, when it began as the women's section of Club Sportif Chênois in Geneva's Chêne district. It became its own entity in 2012, playing as Football Féminin Chênois Genève, before taking its current name in 2017 after merging with Servette FC. Promotion to the top flight followed in 2018, and the wait for a first championship ended in 2021, when Servette Chênois saw off FC Zürich in the play-off — the same opponent that beat them in both the cup final and the league decider the following year.

Home matches are played at the Stade des Trois-Chêne in Chêne-Bourg, which holds 8,000; the club spent several seasons at the Stade de Marignac in Grand-Lancy before returning there for 2024/25. The garnet shirt, worn by a team supporters call Les Grenat, carries Servette's colour, with a red trim left over from the Chênois years. Among the current squad, Garance Nein, a young Swiss forward who has already scored in Champions League qualifying, is the one people point to when asked who comes next.
