The Stadthalle Zwettl, also known as the Zwettler Sporthalle, stands at Gymnasiumstraße 1 and holds 350 spectators. That is the room in which Waldviertel's second team plays its 2. Bundesliga volleyball, in the red and black the club has worn throughout.

The second team sits under a first team that has climbed a long way from where the club began. In 1997 Silvia Atteneder founded it as Union Volleyball Arbesbach, a name that placed it in a village rather than in Zwettl. It was later renamed Union Volleyball Waldviertel, and eventually Union Raiffeisen Waldviertel.

That growth reached its peak in 2021/22. The first team beat SK Zadruga AICH/DOB 3-1 in the final to win the Austrian Championship. The same season it beat VCA Amstetten NÖ 3-1 to take the Austrian Cup. A Supercup followed in 2022/23. Those matches belong to the first team, whose nickname is the Nordmänner, the "Northern Men". The second team has no honours of its own.

Its job is different. The 2. Bundesliga is where players from the region get regular match time on the same court and in the same colours as the champions above them.
