Zeren Spor did not grow out of a school or a neighbourhood side. It began as the project of one businessman, Mustafa Yiğit Zeren, who set up a women's volleyball team in Ankara in 2022 and put it into the Turkish Women's Volleyball Second League for the 2022/23 season.

Promotion to the Sultanlar Ligi, Turkey's first league, came for 2024-25. The newcomers finished fifth, and that result did not bring a trophy. For 2025-26 Zeren Spor entered the Champions League of the European Volleyball Confederation (CEV) by wildcard, alongside its league campaign.

Home games are staged at the Ziraat Bankkart volleyball hall in Yenimahalle, also called the Başkent Voleybol Salonu. It seats 7,600 and belongs to the Turkish Volleyball Federation. The colours are purple and white.

Off the court, the club runs its own event, the Ahmet Göksu Özel Voleybol Turnuvası, which has reached its third edition.

The club still carries the surname of Mustafa Yiğit Zeren, the man who started it in the Second League.
