Vojvodina produced a resilient display to defeat Partizan 3-2 in the Serbian Super Liga on Saturday, moving further clear in the race for the title. The visitors took control early, scoring twice in the opening half before Partizan rallied in the second period. Erik Kojzek scored twice for the hosts, but Vojvodina's late response proved decisive.
Milan Kolaric opened the scoring in the 17th minute, finishing a move that caught Partizan's defence out of position. To be fair, Vojvodina had been the more coherent side from the start, and their second goal came just before the break when Kolaric added his second of the afternoon. Partizan's response was muted, and they carried a two-goal deficit into the interval.
The hosts changed shape at the break, bringing on three players in quick succession. It was not until the 68th minute that they found a way back into the game, with Erik Kojzek pulling one back. By then the momentum had shifted, and Partizan pressed forward looking for an equaliser. Lazar Randjelović restored Vojvodina's lead in the 77th minute, and Kojzek's follow-up in stoppage time could not change the outcome.
The statistics tell a different story to the result. Partizan enjoyed 60 per cent possession and created more attacks, but their shot accuracy of 25 per cent meant they wasted chances. Vojvodina were more clinical, converting 50 per cent of their shots on target. Both sides recorded three saves for their goalkeepers, but the visitors created two big chances compared to Partizan's single opportunity.
The result leaves Vojvodina in second place with 21 points from nine games, while Partizan remain in 13th with seven points after eight matches. The visitors have kept their position in the upper half of the table, while the hosts continue to struggle to find consistency. This was not a game decided by possession, but by moments that mattered.
