About

The Alpe Adria Cup was a regional international basketball competition for clubs in Central and Southeastern Europe. Organised by FIBA Europe, it brought together teams from Austria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, and Slovenia. The tournament ran from 2015 until its discontinuation after the 2023–24 season.

Clubs qualified through domestic league standings, with field sizes varying between 11 and 16 teams each campaign. The structure combined a group stage featuring two round-robin groups, A and B, with a decisive Final Four knockout phase. This format produced semi-finals and a final to crown the champion.

Winners emerged from across the participating nations. Helios Suns claimed the inaugural title in 2015–16, followed by Rieker Komárno, Zlatorog Laško, and Egis Körmend in subsequent years. Levickí Patrioti won in 2021–22, while MKS Dąbrowa Górnicza secured the final two editions. The 2020–21 campaign was cancelled due to the pandemic.

Gerald Martens served as President for the first five years, with Marek Imre appointed as Director. The competition carried various sponsor names during its existence, including the Sixt Alpe Adria Cup, Rieker Alpe Adria Cup, and Helios Alpe Adria Cup. It operated as a separate entity from the pan-European EuroCup, focusing on regional participation rather than continental prestige.

Current season fixtures featured clubs such as Wels, BC Prievidza, Rogaska, BC Kolín, Kapfenberg Bulls, and GKK Šibenka. The tournament concluded with a record-breaking aggregate score of 185–176 in the 2019–20 final between JIP Pardubice and Armex Děčín. The competition folded in 2024, ending its nine-year history.
