Spisski Rytieri

Slovak media call the games against Iskra Svit the východniarske derby, the Eastern derby. Both clubs come from the east of the country.

The Knights, or "the Knights from the High Tatras" in English-language coverage, play in white and blue in Spišská Nová Ves. The city has had organised basketball since 1949, when it was played under the Lokomotíva name. The current club dates from 2004 and started out as BK 04 AC LB Spišská Nová Ves. It won the Slovak Cup in 2006.

In August 2020 the club changed its marketing name to Spišskí Rytieri SNV. The following season it won the Slovak Basketball Extraliga and the cup in the same year. Jared Alleyn, Evan Maxwell, Jamaal Nottage and Ramel Thompkins carried that side, and the title remains the club's only league championship.

Europe followed. In the Alpe Adria Cup the Knights reached the semi-finals in 2021–22 and lost 101–78 to BK Pardubice. A year later they went out to GGMT Vienna 93–80 and took third place. In 2023–24 they finished fifth in their group and missed the Final Four. They also play in the European North Basketball League (ENBL). At home the club runs a youth academy, and Martin Pivovár came through it.

The other eastern opponent is KB Košice, the Košice Wolves. That fixture has no derby name in basketball. The label belongs to the ice hockey clubs of the two cities, HC Košice and HC Spišská Nová Ves. On the court the rivalry rests on proximity alone.
