Amyntas

The Ymittos Indoor Hall seats 600. Before it took that name the building was known as PYRKAL, and the club has played on Maimenis Street under one roof or the other since it took shape in the Dafni-Ymittos district south of central Athens.

The club traces itself to 1950, when it was founded as Amyntas Ymittos, named for Amyntas III of Macedon, father of Philip II. The 2010 Kallikratis local government reform pushed it into a merger with Dafni B.C., a club founded in 1939, under the combined name Amyntas Dafnis-Ymittos. The two sides shared a badge, a bench and a hall, but never finished the legal paperwork that would have made the union permanent. The club returned, in 2011, to playing simply as Amyntas.

Christos Zoupas started out here in 1960 before his career took him to AEK Athens, where he won five Greek league titles; he later became Mayor of Ymittos. His brother, Angelos "Lakis" Zoupas, has run the club as president for more than forty years, and a younger relative, Leonidas Zoupas, once a player at the club, now coaches the current side.

It is the women's team that has filled the trophy cabinet: an Athens Cup in 2016 and again in 2018, the Athens A Division title in 2018, and in 2024 the A2 national championship, which sent them up to the top flight for the first time in the club's history.
