Battipaglia Women

The route Battipaglia has used to reach the top runs through its own youth teams. The Under-20 side won the national championship, the Scudetto, in 2016 and later added an Under-20 Italian Cup. Sara Cavallo and Benedetta Chiovato came up through the academy. Raffaella Potolicchio has captained the senior team for years. Marida Orazzo was captain when the Italian national experimental team called her up, and she was still a Battipaglia player at the time.

The women's section of the Polisportiva Battipagliese, the multi-sport society founded in 1963, was set up in 2008. It won promotion to Serie A1 in 2013–14. In 2014–15, its first season at that level, Monique Ngo Ndjock made more appearances than anyone else in the squad, and Broofe Williams scored more than anyone else. The following year, 2015–16, the team reached the playoff quarter-finals.

The side won promotion to Serie A1 a second time in 2022–23. In 2024–25, its second season back, it again reached the playoff quarter-finals.

Supporters call the team Le Lady, or Le biancoarancio after its white and orange colours. It plays at the PalaZauli, in Battipaglia.
