Names in Singapore's National Basketball League rarely make headlines beyond the box score, and Chong Ghee Sports Club, entered in fixtures as Chong Ghee Red, has spent its seasons in the division. The club plays in red and blue.
What has followed the club into 2025 is not a trophy but a match-fixing case: two players were suspended over their part in it.
The Singapore Basketball Centre, run by the Basketball Association of Singapore on Aljunied Avenue, hosts Chong Ghee alongside the rest of the league. No account of when Chong Ghee itself came together, under what name or for what purpose, has made it into the record that survives around the club today.
