Eng Tat Hornets

Adroit have been across the court from the Hornets in the Singapore National Basketball League Division I final four years running, from 2022 to 2025. The two clubs have traded the title in that run. Eng Tat, then playing as Engtat Hornets, won in 2022. Adroit took the next two, and the Hornets finished runners-up both times in 2023 and 2024. Last year they beat the same opponent again, this time under the name Allinton Eng Tat Hornets.

That win in 2025 was their fourth Division I championship, the most any club has won. The first two came in 2015 and 2016, when the side was still SBPHK Hornets. The name gives away where the club comes from: SBPHK stands for Singapore Bukit Panjang Hokkien Konghuay, a Hokkien clan association. The team carried that name from the league's first season in 2011. Under the Eng Tat Hornets name the club has been competing since at least 2006, and it is widely regarded as one franchise that changed its name along the way.

The Hornets have supplied the national team. Chase Tan played for Singapore and won a bronze medal at the SEA Games. Michael Wong, an Australian-Singaporean, captained the Singapore Slingers before his association with the Hornets. Neo Beng Siang, who coached the national side, now advises the club.

The home court is the Singapore Basketball Centre on Aljunied Avenue 1. The club began as the basketball side of a Bukit Panjang Hokkien clan association, and the title it won in 2025 was still played for under a name that comes from that association.
