Esch

Coach Franck Mériguet took the team to that first senior title in 2022–23, beating Amicale Steinsel 3–1 in the final, and the club backed it up with Luxembourg Cup wins either side of the league triumph, in 2022 and again in 2025 against Etzella Ettelbruck.

The breakthrough came against a long history: the club started out in 1959 as AS BBC Lallange, and for most of that time senior silverware simply did not come. What did come, year after year, was youth production — titles at scholastic and cadet level stretching back through the 2000s, the kind of foundation that eventually produces a roster capable of winning something.

Jordan Hicks put his name on the title run with 23 points in the deciding Game 4, but the more enduring story belongs to Clancy Rugg, the captain who carried the team through the years before the championship arrived, and to the Biever brothers, Joe and Pit, homegrown guards who gave the side a Luxembourgish backbone through spells built around American imports like Zeke Upshaw and Tony Brown.

Esch play in white and blue, and the run to that first title was made at the Hall Omnisport Henri Schmitz, on Boulevard Hubert Clément — a gym in Esch-sur-Alzette that had waited a long time to host a champion.
