JL Bourg U21

JL Bourg spent decades as a fixture of the French second tier before it ever reached a European final, and when that final came, in 2026, it was decided by a defeat away to Beşiktaş turned around by a 73–71 win at home, with Adam Mokoka named the finals' most valuable player. The BKT EuroCup title made JL Bourg the first French club to win it, four years after finishing runner-up in the same competition, in 2024.

The club traces back to 1910, when Henri Mamet founded the multi-sport association Jeunesse Laïque de Bourg-en-Bresse; basketball did not become one of its sections until 1937. Domestically, the honours are modest next to the European run: two Pro B championships, in 2000 and 2017, and a Leaders Cup de Pro B in 2016. The club has come close to more without quite closing it out, finishing second in the Leaders Cup in 2019 and 2023 and reaching the semi-finals of the Coupe de France in 2025.

Zaccharie Risacher left for the NBA as the first overall pick in the 2024 draft. Julien Desbottes has run the club as president since 2012, and Frédéric Fauthoux has coached the side since 2021.

Bourg-en-Bresse sits close enough to Lyon that the derby against ASVEL carries its own weight, but the rivalry is local: Élan Chalon, the neighbouring club in Bresse, in what is known simply as the Derby de la Bresse.
