Jean-Paul Besson took charge of the group for the 2025-2026 season, with the job of keeping alive a pipeline that has long fed the first team.
That pipeline has sent players to the NBA. Guerschon Yabusele joined the academy at 14 and was drafted by the Boston Celtics in 2016, the clearest sign of what the Espoirs set-up exists to produce.
The basketball section dates to 1937, founded within the Groupe Sportif de la Chorale Mulsant, whose name gave the club its nickname, La Chorale — French for 'choir'. The Espoirs wear the same blue and white.
