Pully Women

In Pully, the word for the town's women is Pulliéranes, and the basketball team that carries the name is Espérance Sportive Pully, ESP to most people. It began with a father and daughter, Eugène Graf and Marie-Rose Fernandez-Graf, who set it up in August 1969. It has stayed a women's club since, playing in green and white.

Its best years came in the mid-1980s. ESP won the Swiss Women's Basketball Championship in 1985 and again in 1986. In both seasons it also took the Swiss Cup, so each title came as part of a double.

ESP now plays in the SB League Women, the top tier of Swiss women's basketball, formerly known as LNA Women. Its home games are at the Salle des Plantys in Vétroz.

Pully has a second basketball name, and the two are often confused. The men's side, Pully Lausanne Foxes, formerly Pully Basket, dates from 1951 and plays in red and white. It is a separate club, and ESP has run under its own colours and identity from the start.
