Skuru Basket has never put a national title on the shelf — the trophies from Skuru belong to the club's handball wing, which won Swedish championships in 2001, 2004, 2005 and 2021. The basketball section grew up in that shadow, which itself dates back to October 1922 in the Nacka district outside Stockholm. What the section has produced instead is players: Cajsa Uhrström came through the ranks before playing at the University of Maine and representing Sweden at EuroBasket 2019, and Denzel Andersson passed through on his way to the Swedish men's national team and, eventually, the Miami Heat.

The women's team has moved between levels over the years, having played in both the top-flight Damligan and the second-tier SuperEttan at various points. Fanny Wadling, once named Forward or Defender of the Year in the top division before moving on to Norrköping Dolphins, is another name the club points to when talk turns to what Skuru has sent into the Swedish game.

Matches are played at Nacka Sporthall, in white and green. There is no fixture the club calls a derby, but Basketettan Dam keeps throwing Skuru against the same Stockholm-area sides year after year — Blackeberg Basket, Hammarby IF, KFUM Central Basket — and those meetings do the work a proper rivalry would elsewhere.
