Blackeberg Basket's women's side took the title in 1959, 1961, 1962, 1963, 1964 and 1965, losing only the 1966 final, to Sunne Basket. That run belongs to a club built as a youth centre in Vällingby rather than a trophy factory.

In 1996 the women's team, then playing as JB Knights alongside Järfälla, joined forces with 08 Stockholm Human Rights, and under that name the side won the championship again in 2001, 2003, 2007 and 2010. Relegation followed after the 2012/2013 season, and the team that plays now, back under the Blackeberg name, competes in Basketettan Women rather than the top flight.

What has not changed is the pipeline. The club counts around 1,400 members, and its own graduates keep running it: head coach Gisela Östlund and assistant Paulisa "Polly" Barbosa both came up through Blackeberg before taking charge of it.

Across the western suburbs sits Alvik Basket, and the meetings between the two are known simply as the Västerortsderby.
