Fredrik Hahne pulled it together with parents from those squads in November 2007, and the operation grew well past its original three teams into a club of more than 500 members across over 30 sides, run on the stated principle of combining breadth with elite development.

The senior women's side plays out of Viby in Division 1, the second tier of Swedish women's basketball, having gone up after winning their previous division in 2021. Before that step up, they had spent seasons in Division 2 and lower, working their way through the system rather than arriving there quickly. Sekule Jovanovic coaches the team now.

Home games are played at Edsbergshallen, run by Sollentuna Tennis Club, with Rotebrohallen used for training.

Most of what Viby Basket has to show for itself sits with the youth section: a group of girls born in 2010 swept the golds at the Skövde Basket Cup in 2024, and the club picked up Sollentuna's community award in 2022 for its work off the court. The senior women's team has no comparable silverware, and no player has come through it to wider recognition.
