Vikos Falcons start the 2026-27 season in the Greek Basketball League (Stoiximan GBL), the top tier. In 2021-22 the side was in National League 2, the fourth tier. No other team from the Epirus region has reached the top flight.

The last step came through the Elite League. Vikos were its Winter Champion for 2025-26. On 3 May 2026 they won the Final Four, beating Papagou 87-72 in the final, and that win took them up.

The home hall, the Sideris Karadimas Indoor Gymnasium, is also called the New Indoor Gymnasium of Ioannina. It seats 400 and was renovated to meet FIBA Level 1 standards.

The professional company, a basketball anonymous company (KAE in Greek), was registered in May 2026 as "Vikos Ioannina Athletic Club Basketball Anonymous Company". It trades as Vikos Falcons. The nickname, known in Greek as Ta Gerakia, comes from the falcon on the club's logo and mascot. The colours are black, white and red.

The project began in 2022 with the amateur sports club A.O. Spartakos Ioannina, from which the basketball side developed.
