In their first season under the new name, 2017/2018, the Stars finished runners-up in the Superettan, the second tier of Swedish basketball, and went up to the Basketligan. Guim Expósito, who arrived that season, was central to the promotion push and stayed on for the club's debut top-flight campaign before leaving in June 2019, having averaged 12 points, 3.2 rebounds and 4.6 assists a game. The coach who took them up, Boris Balibrea, was named the Basketligan's Coach of the Year for 2018/2019 — the same season the Stars reached the league's quarter-finals at the first attempt.

Cup form followed a similar pattern. In 2020 the Stars reached the Final Four of the Svenska Cupen, losing the third-place match to Södertälje Kings and finishing fourth.

Huskvarna Sporthall, where they still play, holds around 300 spectators.
