That rivalry sits oddly against how young the section is: AIK itself dates back to 1891, but its basketball arm only came into being on 5 March 2015, after an extraordinary general meeting decided the multi-sport club needed one.
Growth came in a specific step. In July 2016, AIK Basket absorbed the women's and youth sections of Solna Vikings, a club that had already won Swedish championships before folding.
Home games are played in front of no more than 500 people at Vasalundshallen.
Among the players who have carried that shirt, the Hahne sisters, Ellen and Mimmi, are the names most associated with the women's team.
