IK Eos Lund

In 1953, IK Eos Lund's members won an invitational basketball tournament without ever having played the sport before. The result was enough to convince founder Set Odelsberg to adopt the game as the club's focus, four years after he had set up Eos on 13 January 1949. Odelsberg went on to found Lundaspelen in 1979, which grew into one of Europe's largest youth basketball tournaments.

That record rests mainly on the youth section: Eos took the Ungdomsmästare title three years running, in 1955, 1956 and 1957. The senior men won Superettan, the second tier, in 2015 and went up to Basketligan under coach Milan Škobalj. His son Filip played for the club's junior team before moving on to Crvena Zvezda. The women's side reached the top flight by a different route, promoted in 2009/10 after Eskilstuna Basket withdrew rather than through a title of its own.

Lugi Basket, the city's other club, supplies the opposition for the Lund Derby, a name shared across the city's sports rather than one coined for basketball alone.

Eos plays in green and white, and its games are held at Eoshallen on Arkivgatan, a ground that seats 350.
