Amy Joan Irene Sayer

Amy Sayer made her debut for the Matildas on 2 August 2018 against Japan in the Tournament of Nations, coming on as a substitute in a 2–0 win at the age of 16. She has since earned 27 caps and scored five goals for Australia, and was the third-highest scorer at the 2022 AFF Women's Championship with five goals.

Born in Sydney, Sayer came through Northbridge FC before moving into the Football NSW Institute pathway. She played for Sydney University, then joined Canberra United in the A-League Women, and later Sydney FC. While with Sydney FC she also began a spell in the United States, turning out for Stanford Cardinal in the Pac-12 Conference between 2020 and 2022. She was named to the Pac-12 All-Freshman Team in 2020 and won the Pac-12 Championship with Stanford in 2022.

In 2023 she played in the USL W League for San Francisco Glens SC before returning to Europe, joining Kristianstads DFF in the Damallsvenskan on a free transfer that August. Her contract there was extended and she remained with the Swedish club through the 2025 season. In January 2026 she moved on a free transfer to Malmö FF, signing a three-year contract.

Sayer is right-footed but has been noted for her ability to finish with either foot. Across her time with Northbridge FC, Sydney University, Canberra United, Sydney FC, Stanford Cardinal, San Francisco Glens SC and Kristianstads DFF, she has not won a senior domestic league or cup title.
