About the player
Mia Persson built her game in the United States before Sweden ever saw her play professionally. At Lindsey Wilson Blue Raiders she became the programme's all-time leading scorer, with 72 goals in 94 matches, and helped the side win the NAIA National Championship, a run in which she was named Tournament MVP.
Back home, she started her senior career at IF Limhamn Bunkeflo, wearing the captain's armband and leading the club into the Damallsvenskan in 2017. A Bosman move took her abroad in 2019, to Slavia Prague, where she won the Czech Women's First League twice and played in the UEFA Women's Champions League. She returned to Sweden in July 2021 on another free transfer, this time to FC Rosengård, where she added two more Damallsvenskan titles and the Svenska Cupen to her collection.
In July 2024 she moved to Malmö FF, and once again found herself involved in a promotion campaign, helping the club reach the Damallsvenskan that year. Her form has continued to draw attention: she was nominated for the OBOS Damallsvenskan Player of the Month in June and September 2025, having also been shortlisted for the league's MVP award in 2022.
Persson is recognised as a Swedish international.
