About the player
Ellen Löfqvist spent most of her career far from the Damallsvenskan spotlight before it came looking for her. She started out at Alnö IF, stepping into Division 1 football at just 14, then moved on to Sundsvalls DFF before joining Piteå IF in 2016. It was at Piteå that she grew into a leader, taking over as team captain in 2018 — the same year the club won its first-ever Damallsvenskan title and lifted the Svenska Cupen for the first time as well.
She stayed with Piteå IF through 2024, picking up a second Svenska Cupen winner's medal that year and being named Norrbotten's Player of the Year. Along the way she became a fixture of Sweden's youth setup, earning more than 50 caps across the U17, U19 and U23 age groups.
In November 2024, after eight years at Piteå IF, Löfqvist agreed to join Malmö FF Women on a free transfer, signing a two-year deal that brought her into the 2025 season.
