Cheick Oumar Souaré

Cheick Oumar Souaré came through the youth ranks at Olympique Marseille, playing for the club's reserve side in Championnat National 2 before signing his first professional contract with the senior squad in June 2020. His breakthrough came on 3 February 2021, when he made his Ligue 1 debut against Lens — though it remained his only appearance for Marseille's first team.

His path to regular football ran through the Czech Republic. In January 2023 he joined MFK Vyškov on loan, where he became a fixture in the side that finished second in the Czech National Football League and reached the promotion playoffs. The move was made permanent in mid-2024, and across his time at the club he made around 30 appearances and scored twice.

A second loan, to Viktoria Plzeň in January 2024, proved decisive. Club officials noted that his style suited the team's approach, and by June that year Plzeň had exercised their option to sign him permanently on a three-year deal. He has since been part of the Plzeň squad that won the Czech Cup.

At youth international level, Souaré represented France, earning four caps for the under-16s in 2018.
