Dominik Ťapaj

Dominik Ťapaj made his senior debut for MFK Ružomberok on 21 May 2022 against MFK Zemplín Michalovce, keeping a clean sheet first time out, and did the same again in his second league appearance, against Spartak Trnava. That run of form earned him Fortuna Liga Player of the Round, and in May 2025 he was in contention for Player of the Month after keeping two clean sheets in three matches. Over four seasons at Ružomberok he made around 45 league appearances.

His path there began far from the top flight, through the youth ranks at FK Slovan Trstená and MFK Námestovo before Ružomberok brought him into their academy. International recognition followed at under-21 level: he was capped for Slovakia's U21 side, making his debut against Moldova U21 in June 2024 and earning three caps in total.

In January 2026, Ťapaj moved to Czech football, joining FC Viktoria Plzeň from Ružomberok. The fee was not made public, though Ružomberok's general director, Ľubomír Golis, described it as a "very decent fee" for the club. Market estimates at the time of the move put his value at around €400,000, in line with his standing before the transfer.

At 193cm, Ťapaj is a commanding physical presence between the posts.
