Filip Prebsl

Filip Prebsl came through the Slavia Prague academy without ever quite forcing his way into the first team, and his development happened almost entirely away from Prague. After a first taste of senior football on loan at Viktoria Žižkov in the Czech Cup, Slavia sent him out again and again — Vlašim, Slovan Liberec, Górnik Zabrze, and finally Mladá Boleslav — a run of loans that read less like a plan than a search for the right level. That search ended in January 2026, when the move to Karviná became permanent.

It was at Karviná that the picture came into focus. Prebsl started 26 consecutive matches in the Czech First League in the 2025–26 season, the kind of run that settles a defender into a team rather than around it, and he was part of the side that won the Czech Cup, playing in the semi-final against Baník Ostrava as Karviná went on to beat Jablonec 3–1 in the final.

Internationally, he built a solid record at under-21 level, earning 16 caps for the Czech Republic between 2023 and 2025 and helping the side qualify for the 2025 European Under-21 Championship, without yet making the step up to the senior side.

The cup win and the consistent run of starts made him a target, and in July 2026 Viktoria Plzeň paid Karviná a fee in the region of 30 million koruna to sign him. He passed his medical on 2 July and signed a four-year contract the following day, moving to one competing at the top of the table.
