Joseph Tomlinson

Joe Tomlinson's route into professional football ran through Southampton and Yeovil Town's academies before he signed for Brighton & Hove Albion, where he left without a first-team appearance. It was away from the top two divisions that his career took shape: loaned out to Bognor Regis Town, he then moved to Hungerford Town and, in 2020, to Eastleigh, where a breakout season brought 12 goals in 41 league appearances and both the club's Player of the Year and Young Player of the Year awards.

That form earned him a move to Peterborough United in August 2021, a transfer reportedly funded by money reinvested from the sale of Ivan Toney. First-team opportunities were limited at London Road, and Tomlinson went out on loan twice to Swindon Town, picking up the EFL Young Player of the Month award in February 2022 during the first of those spells.

His career found its footing at Milton Keynes Dons, whom he joined in September 2023. He made 98 league appearances and scored 11 goals, and was part of the squad that finished as League Two runners-up in 2025–26 to secure promotion to League One. He moved on to Cheltenham Town afterwards, making his first appearances for the club during the early weeks of the following season.

Tomlinson has not represented England at senior or youth international level.
