About the player
Jiří Panoš was sixteen when he scored against Kryvbas Kryvyi Rih in the UEFA Europa League on 8 August 2024, becoming the youngest Czech player to score in European competition history. It came barely three weeks after he signed his first professional contract with Viktoria Plzeň, having made his senior debut against Dukla Prague the previous day.
Panoš came through Plzeň's academy after joining in 2019 from SK Klatovy 1898, where he had started out. His rise since has been steady rather than sudden: recognition has come mainly through individual honours, having been named the Best Czech Senior Youth Player in both 2024 and 2025. In September 2025 the club extended his contract to 2029, a sign of how highly Plzeň rate him even before a senior trophy has come his way.
At youth international level, Panoš has moved up through the Czech age groups, from three caps for the under-15s to twelve appearances and three goals for the under-16s, before establishing himself at under-17 level, where he took part in the 2024 UEFA European Under-17 Championship.
He has built his career entirely within the Plzeň setup since leaving Klatovy, without any transfer fee attached to his progress through the academy or his step up to the first team.
