Mark Barber

Mark Barber came through Cheltenham Town's own academy, joining the club's under-18 setup in December 2023 and working his way through to a first professional contract in August 2025. He made his senior debut that season, picking up appearances in League Two, the EFL Cup and the EFL Trophy.

There has been some confusion over where exactly he plays: early records had him down as a midfielder, but Cheltenham's own reporting and other sources are consistent in describing him as a defender, used centrally at the back. At 188cm and left-footed, he offers something a little different from the standard right-footed centre-back pairing.

In February 2026, with first-team opportunities limited, Cheltenham sent him out on loan to Taunton Town in the Southern League Premier Division South. He made his debut for the club on 14 February in a 3-2 defeat to Berkhamsted Town, and returned to Cheltenham the following month.

He has not yet been capped at any level for England, and his career to date carries no individual honours or winners' medals.
