About the player
Oliwier Zych came through the academy system twice over before he ever established himself as a first-choice goalkeeper. Born in Poland, he began at Arka Gdynia, moved on to Zagłębie Lubin, and then crossed to England in August 2020, joining Aston Villa on a free transfer. The breakthrough came at Puszcza Niepołomice in the 2023–24 season, where Zych made 26 Ekstraklasa appearances and kept seven clean sheets. The season was recognised in May 2024, when he was named Ekstraklasa Young Player of the Month.
