About the player
Patrik Hrošovský's career has come full circle. He began in Viktoria Plzeň's youth ranks, made his senior debut for the club and, after loans at Baník Sokolov, Ústí nad Labem and Znojmo, established himself in the first team well enough to collect three Czech league titles and two Czech Supercups. In January 2026 he returned to Plzeň on a contract until June 2027.
That departure, in July 2019, took him to Belgian side KRC Genk for a fee reported at around €5.2 million. He grew into the captaincy there and lifted the Belgian Cup in the 2020–21 season. Plzeň paid roughly €1.0 million to bring him back, a sum that could rise to €1.5 million with add-ons.
Alongside his club football, Hrošovský has been a fixture for Slovakia since making his senior debut against Finland in November 2014. He was also involved when Slovakia won the King's Cup in 2018.
Now back at Plzeň, Hrošovský wears the number 17 shirt for a club he already knows well, with three league titles from his first spell there giving some sense of what he is used to winning.
