About

Women's Caribbean Premier League is a professional Twenty20 franchise cricket competition in the West Indies, organized by Cricket West Indies (CWI) and operated by CPLT20. It stands at the top tier of professional women's cricket in the region, distinct from the regional domestic structure featuring teams representing geographical associations like Barbados, Guyana, and Trinidad & Tobago.

The competition was founded in 2022, with the inaugural season held in August and September that year, serving as the women's counterpart to the men's Caribbean Premier League. The league structure has evolved over time. For the 2026 season, the league features four teams: Trinbago Knight Riders Women, Guyana Amazon Warriors Women, Barbados Tridents Women, and Jamaica Empress Women. Earlier iterations included Jamaica Tallawahs and Barbados Tridents before recent rebranding efforts.

The season format typically consists of a round-robin group stage followed by knockout finals. There is no promotion or relegation system, as it is a closed franchise league. The league features franchise teams that draft international and local players.

Barbados Royals Women are the most successful team with multiple titles (2023, 2024, 2025), while Trinbago Knight Riders Women won the inaugural 2022 title. The 2025 season saw Barbados Royals Women win their third consecutive title, defeating Guyana Amazon Warriors Women in the final. The current title holder is Barbados Royals Women (2025).

The league does not have a standalone official website; it is hosted under the main CPLT20 domain (cplt20.com).
