Molde HK Women

Sherin Obaidli has worn the captain's armband long enough to have watched Molde Elite grow up around her, from a section of a wider sports club into a side chasing the top end of the REMA 1000-ligaen table. The elite team only became its own entity on 23 May 2015, splitting off from Molde HK so the parent club, Molde HK Bredde, could concentrate on youth handball while a dedicated squad pushed for the top division. The handball itself in Molde goes back further than that: the club separated from Olymp on 20 January 1961, and its junior women's side was already good enough to take the Norwegian junior title the following year.

The name changed to Molde Elite in 2021, and the colours changed with it, blue and white replacing the red and black the club had carried for decades. That same year brought the closest the team has come to a major trophy, a run to the NM Cup final that ended 38–20 against Vipers Kristiansand. There has been no league title to match it; a fourth-place finish in 2024–25 stands as their best return domestically, alongside three seasons in the EHF European League without silverware.

Tor Odvar Moen has coached the side since 2020, arriving with a background at Larvik HK and Siófok KC and a parallel role assisting the Czech national team. Among the players who have passed through under his watch, Maja Muri has carried both the captaincy and the role of top scorer, while Argentine international Elke Karsten spent a season adding a different kind of experience to the squad.

Home games are played at Molde Arena, where a mobile stand is wheeled in to bring the venue up to handball configuration for the 2,000 who fit inside.
