Copa De La Liga Auf (Uruguay) 2026/27

The Copa de la Liga Profesional AUF is a professional football league cup competition in Uruguay, organized by the Asociación Uruguaya de Fútbol (AUF). It was founded in late 2025, with the inaugural edition played in January 2026. The tournament was created to serve as a pre-season or summer competition, distinct from the primary league championship, the Campeonato de Primera División.

The competition involves all 16 clubs of the Uruguayan Primera División. The format is a single-elimination knockout tournament without a group stage. Matches are played in single legs at neutral venues, with ties decided by penalty kicks. The first champion was Club Atlético Progreso, who defeated Boston River 2–1 in the final on January 29, 2026.

Uruguay lacked a dedicated league cup for top-flight clubs for a long time, relying instead on international competitions like the Copa Competencia or domestic tournaments like the Torneo Intermedio, which are now defunct or different in nature. The creation of the Copa de la Liga AUF mirrors similar initiatives in neighboring Argentina, but it is an independent entity organized directly by the AUF rather than a separate league body. The competition is distinct from the Copa Uruguay, which is the primary national cup open to all divisions, and the Supercopa Uruguaya, contested between the league and cup champions.
