Agustin Ladstattter

The reason Agustín Ladstatter left River Plate's youth academy in 2020 had nothing to do with football. The forward from San Juan moved on to San Lorenzo de Almagro, where he came through the youth system and reached the Reserve side.

With that Reserve team he finished as vice-champion of the Copa Proyección in 2024. In October of the same year San Lorenzo handed him his first professional contract, running to December 2027 and carrying a release clause of €20 million. His debut for the first team came on 29 January 2025, in a 2–0 win over Gimnasia y Esgrima in the Argentine Primera División.

Called up in November 2024 under Javier Mascherano, Ladstatter scored on his debut for the age group, in a 4–0 friendly win against Bolivia in Santa Cruz de la Sierra. He was subsequently included in the squad for the 2025 South American U-20 Championship and the Hexagonal Final.

He grew up in Villa San Patricio, a neighbourhood of Chimbas, in the province of San Juan — a long way from the two Buenos Aires clubs that have shaped his career so far. He has not been capped by the senior Argentina side.
