About the player
Diogo Nascimento spent the first months of 2025 collecting the same prize over and over. Between January and April that year Liga Portugal 2 named him its player of the month four times running; the club also voted him player of the season and young player of the season.
He came up through three academies in the Lisbon area — Sporting CP, Belenenses, then Benfica, where he stayed until 2022 before moving up into Benfica B. Vizela signed him in June 2023 for around €2m. Two years later, in July 2025, Olympiakos paid close to €4m to bring him to Greece.
The move brought an immediate trophy: Olympiakos won the Greek Super Cup later that year. Nascimento has made 19 appearances for the club across all competitions, scoring once — against Kifisia in the Super League on 9 November 2025, in a match Olympiakos won 3-1.
At youth level he has represented Portugal at Under-18, Under-20 and Under-21, but a first call-up to the senior side has yet to come.
