Diego da Cruz Lopes, known as Dieguinho, came up through the Corinthians academy after joining as a seven-year-old in 2015, spending a decade in the club's youth ranks before breaking into the first team. His debut came on 19 April 2025, when he was brought on as a substitute in a 2-1 win over Sport Recife.

Since then the midfielder has made 38 appearances for Corinthians, scoring twice and setting up two further goals. In July 2026 he received a call-up to the Brazil under-20 side, though Corinthians declined to release him for the friendlies against Bolivia, keeping him with the club instead.

Corinthians have shown their confidence in him at the negotiating table: his contract runs to the end of 2029, carrying a release clause of 109 million reais on the domestic market and 100 million euros internationally. He wears the number 61 shirt for the club that raised him.
