Gustavo Henrique

Gustavo Henrique came through Santos, where he made 183 appearances over seven seasons and won the São Paulo state championship three times, in 2012, 2015 and 2016. He was named to the Campeonato Paulista team of the season twice, in 2016 and 2019.

His move to Flamengo on a free transfer in 2020 brought the heaviest silverware of his career: the Brazilian league title that same year, back-to-back state championships in Rio de Janeiro, the Copa do Brasil, the Copa Libertadores and the Recopa Sudamericana, all inside three seasons. That run was interrupted in October 2020 by a testicular injury sustained in a match against Corinthians, the club he would go on to join years later.

A loan to Fenerbahçe in 2022 turned into a permanent deal the following year, and he added a Turkish Cup winner's medal before moving on to Real Valladolid in Spain. His stay there was brief, just twelve appearances, before he returned to Brazil on a free transfer to sign for Corinthians in 2024. The contract included a buyout clause of €100 million for foreign clubs.

At international level, he represented Brazil at under-20 and under-23 level, and was part of the squad that took bronze at the 2015 Pan American Games.

At Corinthians he has continued collecting honours, winning the Copa do Brasil and the São Paulo state championship in 2025, followed by the Brazilian Super Cup in 2026. A muscle injury to his right leg sidelined him in January 2025, adding to a run of knee problems he dealt with earlier in his career, between 2014 and 2017.
