About the player
Facundo Labandeira Castro was travelling on someone else's terms.
The route out of Uruguay started at Atlético Florida, the club in his home department, where he stayed until 2013. Nacional took him into their youth ranks for the next three years and gave him his senior debut in 2018, though only four league appearances came of it. A loan to Progreso the same year brought him 13 more. He was in Nacional's squad for the 2019 Supercopa Uruguaya final, a competition they won, and moved on to Danubio later that year — 39 league games there, then 29 at Boston River in 2021.
Vila Nova gave him 17 league appearances in 2025; América Mineiro, five. Wanderers signed him as a free agent in March 2026, and he has played 17 league matches in the season since.
He represented Uruguay at the 2017 South American Under-17 Championship and the Under-17 World Cup that year, and again at Under-20 level in 2018. No senior cap has followed. Every move of his professional career has been a free transfer or a loan — no fee has ever been reported for him.
