About the player
Rivero's career keeps circling back to the same place. He came through at Montevideo Wanderers and played there from 2015 to 2018, making 91 appearances and scoring 11 goals. In 2015 he captained Uruguay's under-17 side. No senior caps have followed.
The move abroad came in 2019, to Club Libertad in Paraguay. In April 2021 he went back to Wanderers on loan, 16 games and two goals. Libertad took the Clausura later that year; Rivero had already gone.
Sixty-one appearances, five goals, and two trophies in 2023 — the Uruguayan Primera División and the Supercopa Uruguaya.
A 2024 loan to Club Sport Emelec in Ecuador brought 17 appearances and two goals. In January 2025 he returned to Montevideo Wanderers permanently, the club where he started, this time not on loan. None of the fees involved in his moves have been made public.
