Fabricio Orosmán Formiliano Duarte

Fabricio Formiliano has now signed for Montevideo Wanderers twice. The first spell, beginning in February 2024, lasted half a year: 19 appearances, two goals, then a free transfer to Chile in August. The second came in December 2025, on a contract running to 31 December 2027.

The years that built his reputation were spent at Peñarol, whom he joined on a free transfer in July 2017 after five seasons at Danubio. Over four years he made 113 league appearances and scored 14 goals — an unusual return for a defender — and won the Uruguayan Primera División in 2017, 2018 and 2021. He had already taken the same title with Danubio in 2013/14, having made his senior debut for the club on 28 April 2012.

Formiliano arrived at Danubio's academy in 2007 and captained the Séptima side to a Uruguayan youth championship. He was capped twice by Uruguay at under-17 level, debuting in August 2009, and seven times at under-20, where he scored once; he played at the 2013 South American U-20 Championship. No senior cap has followed.

His move to Necaxa in 2021 brought Peñarol a fee of around €848,000, and he made 49 league appearances in Mexico, scoring twice. What came next did not work. He signed for San Lorenzo as a free agent in September 2023 and did not play a single match before leaving for Wanderers.

Chile suited him better. He won the Copa Chile with Universidad de Chile in 2024, then joined Unión Española on a free transfer in July 2025 — the last stop before Montevideo called him back.
