Gregori Alexander Anangonó Minda

Gregori Anangonó made his mark before he made the first team: Universidad Católica won the Ecuadorian Cup in 2025 with him as a fixture in the back line. That contrast, present at the trophy but absent from the pitch when it mattered most, marks the gap between where his career started and where it settled.

Born in Mira, in Ecuador's Carchi province, Anangonó began his professional career at LDU Quito in 2018. His first season yielded eight league appearances. A loan to SD Aucas followed in 2019 and ran through the end of 2020, giving him a stretch of regular football away from Quito.

The move that reshaped his career came on 1 January 2021, when he signed for Universidad Católica . The transfer fee was not disclosed. The 2025 Copa Ecuador triumph stands as the clearest marker of that progression.
