Gustavo del Prete

Ten goals in the 2019 Uruguayan Segunda División made Gustavo del Prete the division's top scorer and carried Montevideo City Torque to the title and promotion to the Primera División. It was his first season outside Argentina, two years after he had made his senior debut for Cipolletti.

Estudiantes de La Plata paid a reported $4.8 million to bring him back across the River Plate in 2021. He repaid a good part of it quickly: nine goals in 24 matches of the 2021 Liga Profesional made him the club's leading scorer, and he added two more in the Copa Libertadores the following year. One of those Estudiantes goals came in a 4-4 draw with Gimnasia y Esgrima La Plata.

The move to UNAM Pumas in 2022, for a fee reported at between $4.5 and $5 million, did not go the same way. Seven goals in 54 matches was a modest return on that outlay, and the relationship with the crowd soured: he was booed regularly, sent off against Pachuca in March 2023, and in September that year kicked a bench seat after being substituted, an incident that spread widely. A loan to Mazatlán FC covered the 2023/24 season.

Pumas sold him to Atlas in January 2025 for an undisclosed fee, having looked to recover their original investment. In July 2026 he left on a free transfer to San Lorenzo, signing until December 2027. He has never been capped by Argentina at any level.
