Isidro Pitta

Isidro Pitta made his name in Brazilian football before it took him to a World Cup. At Cuiabá he scored 24 goals in 71 matches, a return that turned a modest Mato Grosso club into a springboard, and helped the side win the Campeonato Mato-Grossense in both 2023 and 2024. RB Bragantino bought 70% of his rights from Cuiabá in January 2025 for €4.35 million, a fee that reflected how far his stock had risen since leaving Paraguay.

Pitta came up through Cerro Porteño's academy in Asunción before a loan spell in Portugal with Alvarenga gave him his first taste of football abroad. He returned home to build his reputation at Deportivo Santaní and Sportivo Luqueño, scoring regularly enough that Olimpia paid Luqueño €1 million for him in January 2021. He won the Clausura with Olimpia and played in the Copa Libertadores, form that carried him to Spain, where Huesca bought 60% of his rights that August. His time in the Segunda División brought only two goals in 14 matches, and a loan to Juventude in Brazil's Série A opened the move that reshaped his career.

At Bragantino, Pitta has kept adding to his reputation for direct scoring. In April 2026 he scored a hat-trick against Remo, and in November 2025 he returned from a muscle injury that had kept him out for 86 days by scoring again as Bragantino beat Corinthians.

He earned his first cap for Paraguay on 6 September 2024, in a goalless draw with Uruguay. He has since been named in the squad for the 2026 World Cup, though his six appearances for the national team have yet to bring a goal.
