Luan Peres Petroni

Luan Peres came through Portuguesa's academy before making his professional debut with the club in 2014, and it took him several stops – Santa Cruz, Red Bull Brasil, loan spells at Ituano and Ponte Preta, then a brief loan at Flamengo – before a move abroad in 2018 changed the trajectory of his career. Club Brugge signed him for a modest fee, and he went on to win the Belgian Super Cup and finish runner-up in the league before Santos took him back to Brazil on loan in 2019.

That loan spell turned into the defining stretch of his career so far. Santos reached the final of the Copa Libertadores in 2020 and finished as Brazilian championship runners-up in 2019, with Peres a fixture in the back line for both campaigns. The club made the move permanent in 2021, paying to keep him rather than let him go, before selling him on to Marseille the following year.

Fenerbahçe brought him to Turkey in 2022, where he added a Turkish Cup winner's medal in 2022/23 to his collection during a stay of roughly two seasons. In September 2024 he returned to Santos as a free agent, signing a contract running to December 2027, and helped the club win the Brazilian Série B that year on the way back to the top flight.

Now back at Santos wearing the number 14 shirt, Peres remains a defender who has built his career on adaptability, playing across Brazil and three different European leagues without ever settling into a single system for long. He has not been capped by the Brazil national team.
